It might not be easy being green – but in this industry, it’s critical!

It might be dirty work, but everyone at Sirus Mining Solutions and Hyundai Forklifts Mackay is committed to completing their work safely.

They also take seriously their role in adhering to strong policy around the environment and work with customers to deliver sustainable solutions, which – more often than not – will involve reconditioning and rejuvenating heavy gear instead of throwing it away. It’s a far cry from the cut and dump approach of the old days in the industry.

Heavy industry – or anything to do with the mining and resources sector can tend to get a bit of a bad wrap when it comes to the environment.

It can be dirty heavy business doing what we do. But that doesn’t mean we take the environment – and our commitment to its protection – lightly.

For Sirus Mining and Hyundai Forklifts Mackay, it is exactly the opposite.

Everything we do is with sustainability, the safety of our workers and the cleanliness of our surrounding environment in mind.

Hyundai Forklifts Mackay is a full-service dealership for highest-quality, world-class electric forklifts and pallet trucks.

We work with our customers to make sure the size and capacity of the machine they’re buying meets their exact specifications and requirements. These machines offer a clean, affordable and safe option in any materials handling or warehousing context.

Certainly, we can supply diesel forklifts and LPG machines, but the Hyundai electric range ticks just about every sustainability and safety box you might want – they’re clean, there are no fumes and emissions are minimal. They have a reduced carbon footprint when compared to the diesel forklifts or the gas counterparts.

They are easy to operate and user-friendly helping to eliminate the fatigue and user strain that comes with manual or other pallet trucks and forklifts.

The fact they are quiet also belies the often noise and monotonous drone which is all too often associated with industrial areas.

Our partnership with Hi-Tec and Valvoline is also a considered step in servicing our customers but doing so in a way which won’t prickle the environmental conscience of either them or us! Both companies are committed to the development of cutting edge lubricants, oils and other essentials, while still maintaining a high-level adherence to environmental standards.

And then, there’s the workshop.

There are no two ways about it – it’s hot, it’s dirty, it can be loud and we would be the last to deny there is a definite risk of something going wrong in an environmental sense.

But when you think about it, that’s the way it should be. A risk you know about is one you can mitigate against – and counteract.

Not only are we beholden to stringent environmental regulations and laws – enforced at every level of government – but we stick to our own high standards of monitoring, control and risk mitigation.

We have, in place, practiced and well-communicated policies and procedures to prevent against any kind of environmental situation arising; and in the very rare event that something slips through the net, we have even tighter policies around contingencies, reporting and actions.

But that’s not enough. We know that. So we have been proactive in developing innovative solutions for the reuse and recycling of what could be waste water; we are investing in alternative energy solutions such as solar and we are proactive in assessing and reassessing our environmental checks and balances on a regular basis.

For a dirty industry, we run a clean shop and a tidy operation.

Is it easy? Not always, but that’s what makes it a challenge all the most satisfying to meet.

We work hard to educate our crew and when it comes to innovation, we relish everyone’s ideas.

In a world that is about sustainability, innovation, disruption and working smarter instead of harder, Sirus Mining Solutions and Hyundai Forklifts Mackay are committed to building and growing businesses which operate in the day to day with an ever-inquiring view to the future and what we need to be there.
