What a year for Sirus Mining and Hyundai Forklifts Mackay

It has been a bit of a bumpy ride these past few years in our part of the world. And, while this year hasn’t been a bed of roses, at least we might start seeing graphs with the lines heading in the right direction. Although cautious – and not willing to count our chickens too early – we’re justified in feeling a bit of hope.
Eventually, there comes a time when we can start to up the ante again and look to brighter times ahead. Although, at Sirus, the “downturn” gave us a chance to step back a bit and take a good look at the business.
To expect the kind of activity we saw in the last boom would be not only unrealistic, but foolhardy.
No-one wants to go through that again – not now that we know the kind of bust that follows. It’s like staying until the end of the party of the year and then having to wallow in your worst hangover.
But there is a feeling of optimism, and the evidence of real and organic growth is, definitely, there.
Thankfully, despite some ups and downs and the kinds of lessons that can only be learnt in business, Sirus Mining Solutions has weathered the storm and been able to track a steady and consistent track of growth.
We have introduced a new facet to the business – in Hyundai Forklifts Mackay – and we have spent the past few years doing as much soul searching and planning as any business would at a time like this.
Just last week, Hyundai Forklifts Mackay was named Best Emerging Dealer in the country at the company’s national awards.
Better though, is that we know where we are at, we know our strengths, we know where we want (and need) to do better and, most importantly, we know where we are headed.
We have had to take a good hard look at ourselves and see where we can diversify, change and evolve to meet the market and not just stay afloat, but grow and strengthen – regardless of economy.
Any business wanting to grow has to go through this process. Change is hard, but you have to take adversity with both hands and make it opportunity.
We are fortunate to have a good crew and excellent clients. That’s not by accident. Nor is our commitment to growth, safety, best-practice and quality assurance.
In business – as in broader economies – nothing should be by accident.
It’s deliberate: based on forecasts and plans.
Then, only once the plans are in place and performance speaks for itself, can you sit, put your feet up and knock back a satisfying beer. And even that doesn’t last…because then, you need to change, and do it all again.
